The concept of Knowledge resources sharing both print and other medium amongst the Libraries is practiced since many decades. The advancement of ICT and trending tools and techniques along with free and open source software applications have taken a new dimension and playing decisive role in data, information and knowledge sharing. The present trend made it possible to connect each other for effective exchange of ideas and knowledge. Though majority of scientific information is emanating from taxpayers money, most of the research literature is still behind the pay walls which is managed by the aggregators and publishers who are working for commercial benefits out of innovative knowledge created by the intellectuals.

In this context libraries required to act strategically while subscribing and managing their resources. It is essential to demonstrate by the Library paternity to accelerate and interconnect themselves to share resources and knowledge to ensure that the innovative resources be used widely for societal benefits. As such, the Bombay Science Librarians’ Association-BOSLA organize series of events to address the burning issues in the field of LIS and create a platform for Library and Information practitioners to come together to debate, discuss and revolve the solutions for better tomorrow.

 

On this note, BOSLA has decided to organize a day lecture series on auspicious occasion of 127th Birth Anniversary of our Father of Library and Information Science in India - Dr. S.R. Ranganathan. The event will be held at DAE Convention Centre, Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai–400094 on 10th August, 2019. The theme selected for the event is “Knowledge Networking for Excellence-KNE”. The event will be addressed by eminent scholars drawn from various domain knowledge for common benefits for the participants.

3. Kindly note that photography is strictly prohibited in the Anushaktinagar premises.
