Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is India's premier nuclear research facility with extensive infrastructure for advanced R&D covering the entire spectrum of nuclear science, engineering and related areas. Scientific Information Resource Division (SIRD), BARC is Asia’s largest special library in the field of nuclear science and technology with 1.25 lakh books, 1.50 lakh back-volumes of 5,700 journal titles, 4.5 lakhs research reports published by various laboratories across the world. It currently subscribes to 3,000+ journals, 15 standards and databases and fulfils the information needs of employees of BARC. SIRD is also the nodal agency for International Nuclear Information System (INIS) activities in India. In addition, also caters to photography, videography, reprography, and foreign language translation services required by the centre.

Bombay Science Librarians’ Association (BOSLA)

Bombay Science Librarians’ Association (BOSLA) is one of the oldest associations for Library and Information Professionals exists since 1970s. Around mid-1990s, young and enthusiastic library professionals started taking interest in the association’s activities. BOSLA’s membership started growing and today it has over 400 members from Research, Academic, College, Public and Corporate libraries. The association provides a platform to its members for professional development and capacity building by organizing conferences, workshops and training in new, current and ongoing concepts in the library and Information Science profession.
