Greetings for the new year 2023!
It is a great pleasure to announce the first Bombay Science Librarian’s Association event in 2023 after gap of over a year. The libraries are now operational after the pandemic and gearing up for new challenges of open access. The declaration of open access in Budapest in 2002 has grown through time and taken new dimensions in this scholarly communication world. The scientific community is entwined in ever-growing article processing charges. They are finding it difficult to publish their research reports as publishers are coming out with a sevreal different publishing models. It is a welcome move the Government of India has initiated ‘One Nation One Subscription’ to provide access to all scientific contents and databases to academic institutes in India.
Keeping in mind the realms of open access models Bombay Science Librarians' Association has organized a seminar on "New Horizons in Open Access Era". The seminar aims to provide a platform to learn the latest developments and best practices in the use of open resources and models. The lectures will bring insights of the concept and new evolving models and how to address them from library perspectives.
